Personal Responsibility

Don’t blame Donte Stallworth for drunk driving.  How in the world can you expect a NFL football player to be held accountable when we do not hold anybody else accountable? Personal responsibility is something that is no longer on the American radar.  Blame the media, Wall Street, his agent, rap music, his hedge fund manager or even his teammates.  Remember don’t try to blame this guy.

Like everyone does in this day and age, we should try to divert attention away from the real issue and crime.   Hopefully, Donte will dress up in a shiny suit and hire a slick lawyer that will deny the charges and make counter accusations.

By chance, if he does get prosecuted, I have a great idea.  Treat him like the criminals who live in his million-dollar neighborhood.  Donte should have to answer tough questions and get dirty looks by some mean, old and fat Senators and Congressmen.  Just pretend he worked for AIG or “The Big Three.”  Better yet, give him the same punishment the tax evaders who work on Capitol Hill received.

I know, make him pay for his crime like the gentleman in New York who was caught with the high price hooker. What was his name?  He was sentenced to go on “Good Morning America” to promote his million-dollar book deal.  We should all be so lucky.

The problem is Donte wears cleats.  He would probably fare better if his uniform included wingtip shoes.

Donte Stallworth will receive none of the above treatment. Because even though he is a millionaire, he is still a poor black man who can only catch a football.  I guess, some guys must be held to a higher standard.
