Effects of Tigers “Humanism”..

I've heard it all…..

“If you aint cheat'n, you aint try'in!!”

“Don't work harder, work Smarter” (submitted by one of my contractors for my house remodel….he was fired)

“A little skill, and a whole lotta luck!”

“I'd rather be lucky than good any day!”

So back to Tiger….

Is he a magnificent athlete at his sport?  YES.

Is he the greatest gift to golf of all time?  I don't think so..  But I also don't know who else would be!!!

When Tiger was in college he began to make a statement for himself and his golf game as many players have done before and will continue to do.  But when Tiger made his professional debut and the few tournaments there after he did exactly what he had to do to get the people and the press on his side.  It was after the associated press was backing the Tiger Woods image that he began to really advance the game.  Was Tiger really that “unbeatable” or did the News, Sports Associations, Press, etc., just pump TW up so much the competition could do nothing but crumble?

How ironic now that the same Press who once praised Tiger Woods to be Goliath like now searches for the newest clue in his life in an attempt to destroy his image.  But as we have witnessed, it only takes a couple of bombings in Afganistan, Earthquakes in Haiti, or a few Golden Globes and Tigers news is not so much news anymore.  He's just a regular guy who can play good golf.  We'll see who is he at the end of 2010!!

Great post…I have a few follow up questions for you Bugman.

If you can qualify and clarify a few points it may help our readers. Thanks!!!

“But when Tiger made his professional debut and the few tournaments there after he did exactly what he had to do to get the people and the press on his side.  It was after the associated press was backing the Tiger Woods image that he began to really advance the game.”

What exactly did Tiger do to elevate his game? Was it all hype? These guys are pros and John Daly doesn't listen to the press.

And second where will  he show up again and will he be more loved than Kobe?

Tiger is a liar, a cheat and a womanizer. Sex addict, baloney!! If he didn't have money and power his sex addiction would disappear. You guys teach leadership, honor, integrity, so lets hear something from you at the LPI.

Yes Clara, Tiger's conduct was less than honorable. He violated his commitment to his wife. He lied and deceived her. His conduct was not a mistake but conduct that was planned and executed with precision. His “demon” was his arrogance and sense of entitlement. He addressed these issues. He is trying to reconstruct his life. Lets see if his conduct improves. The lesson to young people is that ,YES there is a price for bad conduct. In Tiger's case a big price.

Does any of this really matter? Sure. it matters to our kids. It matters to those of us that teach high standards, ethical conduct and integrity.
